VOLUNTEER

Do you love and appreciation of art? Have a flexible schedule? Interested in volunteering in your local community?  Need community service volunteer hours for school or some other program?  The Appalachian Artisan Center is currently seeking volunteers at their new home in the Cody Building in Hindman, KY!

AAC volunteers have the opportunity to contribute valuable visitor services to a nonprofit institution in their region. Volunteer applications are accepted at all times. We will contact applicants with the required skills, interests, and availability for volunteer positions become available.
Below are the descriptions of the various current volunteer opportunities at the AAC.

 

We’re Moving!
Short-term Volunteers August 19 – 20
10am – 4pm Friday & Saturday

The AAC is moving to our home just down the block to our newly renovated Cody Building. Come be a part of this historical move in AAC history.

Volunteers Responsibilities

  • Packing boxes / unpacking boxes (art work, gallery displays, files, office supplies)
  • Light Lifting
  • Heavy Lifting

No skills necessary!

Join us this weekend during this special occasion in AAC history! During moving days lunch & refreshments will be provided at the AAC in the Cody Building Conference room.  Once moving is completed on Saturday, August 20 we will have a celebratory toasting of the Cody Building!

 

Monday Lobby Greeter

10am-5pm

Volunteers Responsibilities

  • Greets and directs visitors in the Cody Building
  • Manages guest sign in – sign out registry
  • Distributes general information
  • Answers general questions about the AAC & it’s programs
  • Keeps visitor traffic moving and controlled
  • Assists staff with other tasks upon request

Required Skills

Friendly / welcoming / excellent communication skills / comfortable interacting with visitors of all ages
